Hey! it's like me!
A building (temporarily) dedicated to all the American expats in Sydney (I've heard there's something like 10,000 Americans in Sydney.)

10,000? Really? I've only met 3 the entire time I've lived here - which is 4 1/2 years so far. This is certainly not been the case with Canadians though - so much so that I'm used to being asked where I'm from in Canada these days. Of course it's safer to make that assumption than ask a Canadian where in America they're from...but my father-in-law is Canadian and I've somehow started saying "house" and "about" like a Canuck.

If you're looking for a gathering - check out The American Society - we were members for the first few years down under and it helped us adjust, but if you've been here for over 4 you're probably adjusted :-) Anyway, I'm sure they ahve a forth of july party...
