At Singapore Changi Airport
Mental note: Don't arrive so early for flights out of Changi. I expected a good hour for check in. Took 5 minutes. Yay! Free internet access at the airport. But I missed out on the free breakfast at the hotel and my cab ride here was in the dark.
This trip was very business heavy and photo light. I'll have some photos on line this weekend, but my camera spent most of it's time in my hotel room safe. I can't very well drag a DSLR to business meetings... hmmm, maybe I need to get a new compact for just such occasions. Like Wednesday night I had dinner in Chinatown at the Maxwell Food Centre - basically a bunch of stalls around communal tables - think food court at your local mall, but without any of the chain fast food joints. Most of the stalls only had two or three different things to choose from - so I got a Tiger Beer from one, Taiwanese beef noodle soup from another (disappointingly bland, but the beef was nice and tender) and on my way out I was very excited to see a sugar cane juice stand (in India I risked the local water in order to have some of this and loved it - in Singapore I could get it with ICE and not be worried) so of course I had to have some (the juice I had in India was better - so it appears that sugar cane juice is not as good without risk.)
Back toward the hotel I walked along a street with rows of nightclubs on one side and bridal shops on the other. I know there is a joke in there, but I just can figure it out.
