Why I love Amy

On our way home from The Department's Eurovision Party last night we came across this lost dog, obviously scared and confused, in the middle of the Pacific Highway in Killara. We stopped (the two cars behind us were able to stop as well) and Amy got the dog out of the road. I parked out of the way (it's just behind the dog in the picture) and this is the scene I walked up to. The dog seemed uninjured but was whimpering loudly - clearly stressed - but much love from Amy calmed him down. He had a collar, but no tag (he is likely microchipped.) I fasioned a leash out of my camera strap (all McGuiver like) so he wouldn't bolt back into the raod. We rang the police who came about 20 minutes later. The female officer said as this old dog struggled to get in the police car: "You are going to get so spoiled back at the station." I hope his family find him.

This warms the cockles of my heart. Poor doggie. I hope he's reunited. Thanks for the photograph and the story Rob. You guys are the greatest.

Update: The dog didn't show up at the pound. This means he was microchipped and reunited with his family. yay!
