nikki and tim
I was talking to my dad this morning and asked if he saw this photo of Nikki (my sister) and Tim - he hadn't. Later I realised that I hadn't uploaded it, so of course, he hadn't seen it.... so dad, this one's for you. And Tim and Nikki of course.

mate
Mate. I cannot believe how much I say the word now. In Australia it all seems perfectly normal. In the USA, hearing Australians say 'mate' is odd, but hey - they HAVE an Australian accent. Any hint of Aussie accent I had a week ago is long gone. Now, I sound like any other Midwesterner who calls all strangers "mate."
Oh, and I am also answering the question "How are you?" with "Good, thanks." Oddly I don't do that in Australia (at least I don't think I do...)
From Peoria... off to Chicago in about 18 hours.

Everyone Has a Good Story
CafeDiverso contacted me about this photo a few months ago - asking me to enter it for consideration in an upcoming book of photos and stories from the 32 countries participation in the 2006 World Cup. A few weeks ago I got notice that I was in the book - I did post the news over in Flickr, but couldn't bring myself to blog until I got the actual book in my hands.
Today: I got the book! Page 144 and 145 (yes Dad, I'm bringing you a copy.) I am now published in the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Andrew will appreciate this: In the back of the book there are short bios on all the artist. In my bio, my Alma Mater is shown as Columbia Collage. *sigh* - I wrote that bio. I really, really think I wrote Columbia College but alas, I didn't keep a copy.
It is an art school.

bad blogger
I know I've been a bad blogger. I have been taking a few photos, but nothing worth posting. The regular commenters would have noticed that I have put in an approval mechanism. Sorry about yhat, but the damn comment spammers forced the issue. Off the the USofA in a few days... yay! I'll put a better comment solution in place when we get back in July. Check back here often as I plan to post from the road.
