another climbing weekend
Three sunny weekends in a row! I didn't take any photos this time - watch Amy's blog for some as she was shooting heaps. We did a Nowra day trip which took me back to the days in Chicago when we used to day trip to Devil's Lake - it's 2.5 hours each way but on a winter's day most of that driving is done when it's too cold/dark to climb anyway. I had a goal for the day - to do a 14, a 15 and a 16 - not only did I do them, but did them all 'on sight' (meaning I climbed them clean on the first attempt with no prior knowledge such as seeing someone else climb them or getting tips from other climbers.) Even threw in a second 14 and an 11 for good measure. This is all part of building back up to grade 24 - which to be honest is starting to look like Australia Day 2008 is a bit too soon. Now I'm thinking grade 21 (5.11a) by Australia Day and grade 24 (5.12a) by my 40th birthday - but right now I'm just aiming for 18.
