kuala lumpur and camp 5
To the rock climbers who read my blog (you know who you are) - if you find yourself in Kuala Lumpur and are looking for a good gym, go no further than Camp 5. Not only is that a slick web site, it's a slick gym. MASSIVE bouldering area. Three auto belays, which I've never used before - until today - and totally wiped myself out trying to get this 6c (5.11b) route on one of them - the crux was the 2nd to last move and the stupid auto-belay would lower me back to the ground every time I fell - um, i think 5 times... Then started swapping belays with a Welshman who's living in KL for the last 4 years or so (I think his name was Mark.)
Really nice gym - great routes - the bouldering problems got much easier once someone pointed out to me that features are OK for hands too (I'm used to feet only features) and a fantastic pro-shop.
Prices are a little higher then in the USA but heaps cheaper than Aussie prices - so I stocked up on some carabiners. And got me some sweet new prAna climbing pants (technically knickers, but not in an English/Aussie way)

You keep using English words, and I keep not knowing what they mean. I do like to say "carabiners" though.

"Capris" or is that too girly a term? (Pants are well, pants you know!)
